Congratulations to Dragons for their double victory in the grand finals today and to their First Grade earning the squad promotion to Premier League next year. And credit where credit is due to both Pats Reserve Grade (undefeated in the premiership) and Ravens for making the GF. From a neutral perspective, a very entertaining season which saw a very congested table in both grades for the majority of the season, ending ultimately I think with the deserving teams taking the top positions. Looking forward to 2021.

With the season now done and dusted what are the people's thoughts on which teams should be awarded the following fantasy team awards if they existed for both grades?

Specifically:

1 - Team of the Season - by position, which team's line ups were the strongest?

EXAMPLE:

FIRST GRADE:
GK - MCS
DEF - RAV
MID - RED
ATT - PUT

2 - Spirit of Football - Which team played consistently in the spirit of the game?

3 - Best team - Which specific team do you think was the most complete or consistent and why? (This might seem obviously to some people, but it'd be great to hear your reasons why you thought one team or another or even if you couldn't split it between teams).

Reserves: GK: St Pats Def: Dragons Mid: St Pats Attack: Dragons Firsts: GK: Ravens Def: Dragons Mid: Dragons Attack: Dragons/Putney Spirit of football: Reserves: Ravens Firsts: Dragons Best team: Reserves: St Pats/Dragons. Dragons probably the best but choked against St Pats twice, until today seemingly. Firsts: Dragons/Redbacks. Shame Redbacks didn’t make the final as it would be likely been a closer game. The result looks like it was a bit of a flogging.

GK: Dragons Def: Dragons Mid: dragons/Redbacks Att: dragons/Putney Dragons most consistent team and it was evident today. Redbacks or Putney would have made for a much better final. Would have been good to see a full semi finals and final but let’s see what happens next year!

The next game Pats won again but it was a close game and Dragons again were missing players. Grand Final Dragons had everyone on deck and Pats were cocky and completely lost the plot when they started getting outplayed

Looking at the results from the season, Dragons probably wanted to avoid Putney as they were the only team they lost to and couldn't beat. A full finals series would've had a better GF match up but to get the season completed and in full during this year is a bonus for everyone.

St Pats biggest pretender club in the league should just fold Northern KFC best team in the Comp we were unlucky not to make the GF we’d have put up a better fight than 5-1 2022 we are off to PL where we belong #bowtothecolonel

Team of the Season Firsts GK: Ravens/Putney DEF: Dragons MID: Dragons ATT: Dragons/Redbacks Ressies - hard to split GK: Pats/Dragons DEF: Pats MID: Pats/Dragons ATT: Dragons Spirit of football Firsts: HFC - fought hard each game and have improved again since last season. No longer the 'easy beats' Ressies: Ravens - decent bunch of blokes, most played in the right spirit Best team Firsts: Dragons - Quality across the pitch. Most consistent, good ball play, good composure and good at maintaining possession. The handful of games I saw (with the exception of the GF) weren't high scoring, but they generally seemed to dominate play and create a heap of chances. For what it's worth, a special mention to Putney, Redbacks and Ravens who lacked consistency which saw them finish mid/top table but had some solid performances along the way which demonstrated their quality. Ressies: St Pats - Dragons and Pats both head and shoulders above the rest of the comp and played good brands of football, but Pats most consistent against every team. Special mention to Thornleigh, who like those mentioned above lacked consistency and probably didn't have the quality across the pitch to match Dragons and Pats, but still managed to take points off both before the season's conclusion.

Having played against both teams over the last few years, I’d say Dragons firsts are much better than Saints. If Dragons had been more clinical they would have turned their dominance into more one sided score lines similar to that of the final. They didn’t beat us by more than a couple of goals each time but they created so many chances and were airtight at the back.
