Big round this weekend (Pending the incoming deluge) and it's turning out to be a real season of 2 halves. Top half and bottom half. Top 5 teams streaking away with the gap between 5th and 6th stretched out to 9 points now, possibly more due to games in hand. The top spot still up for grabs as a good/poor result or 2 in the final weeks can seeimingly make or break your run to the finals. On the other end of the spectrum the REAL fight seems to be to avoid relegation with, arguably, the bottom 4 teams still all at risk.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

EEW v NMH - (4th v 9th) - EEW looking to continue pushing for finals. They are equal points but have a game in hand on EPP so the opportunity is there to solidify 3rd and really put pressure on what is currently a 2 horse race up top. Normo on the other hand are fighing for their lives in the PL so it won't be an easy feat for the Tigers. A loss here and a win from HFC means equal bottom with F/A being their only saviour. EEW at home, pushing for finals/top spot vs a team down on their chips and struggling for form. This one's a no-brainer, EEW to win 4-0

PEN v MQD - (6th v 8th) - This will be an interesting affair. Both teams have the worst current form with PEN's last win being this reverse fixture (4-0) and MQD haven't won a game since before Easter only picking up a measly draw with HFC. Both teams will be wanting to stay as far away from the relegation scrap at possible. Penno are in a weird position where finals football is almost all but a lost cause but they are seemingly safe from relegation so will they have the motivation to step up in a potentially dead-rubber of a season? MQD are in all sorts at the moment and I can't really see this changing on Saturday. PEN 3-0.

HFC v PUT - (10th v 7th) - The battle of the bottom. HFC sitting dead last and praying results go their way to even have a hope of avoiding the drop, the only team that leaks as many goals as them ironically is Putney. They say the most dangerous opponent is one with nothing to lose and HFC will throw everything and the kitchen sink at Putney to try and stay up. PUT on the other hand has gapped the relegation scrap for the time being picking up some big wins against the teams below them and toppling the plummetting EPP in the process. With grounds most likely being wet and slippery this fixture is set to be a hard, physical and scrappy affair. Honestly could see this as a low scoring draw. 1-1.

STA v EPP - (2nd v 3rd) - Definitely the match of the round. STA flying high equal 1st and going strong. Best defense in the league and at home is an intimidating prospect to come up against. Not sure the last time STA won a premiership (any old pundits care to weigh in?) is it too soon to start dreaming of lifting the trophy? Well they have to hurdle the capitulating Epping FC first. Epping are seemingly on a free-fall from the summit. The only wins they've picked up in their last 7 games have been agaisnt HFC and MQD, not stellar results considering the chirping that was happening from 1st place at the halfway point. STA too strong for the youngsters, STA 2-0

WRR v WPH - (1st v 5th) - Last but definitely not least we have the GF rematch v 2.0. The reverse fixture saw WRR confidently dispatched by WPH 4-0 on a tough away fixture at Campbell They will surely be looking for revenge at home while desperately wanting to keep touch with the top 4 to keep their hopes of more trophies alive. Rovers the the in-form team of the league currently. Unbeaten since that loss to WPH they have seemingly clicked back into their 2024 form. WPH, on the other hand, are back in their comfort zone at the top of the PL table. Albeit tentative with a few teams trying to topple the dominant Lions squad. They will want to bounce back from a dissapointing 2024 season, considering their past achievements, so a win here is a must if they want to continue their charge to yet another premiership trophy. My prediction, a tight win to make the run home extra juicy!  WRR, 1-0
