reserve grade

eew 2

wrr 1

eew on some run of form, if it was proper semi's id say they wouldve been tough to beat. Probably means no premiership for wrr suck shit.

fyi rovers were playing multiple fg players while eew was using u/17's.

Wrr playing first grade players? Which ones?  Pretty sure first grade trained behind the goals so give your head a wobble

In your defence. They could've passed off as AA/4 players

Brilliant game. Fast paced, good football from both sides helped by fantastic reffing.

Penno going in hard to compete for a GF place

Rovers choking at the end of a season is classic Rovers. Watch them crumble in finals. Put a bet on it now

Reckon wrr will choke too.these things are contagious and they play the leagues choke champions twice this week

Poor cats. 3 weeks ago FG in 2nd followed by a mighty choke under the pressure- collapse to mid table

Announcement of RG finals being only 1 v2 no pressure? Drum roll for the unstoppable Cats RG to win 5 on the bounce to end 4th

Ahaha remember the Gilmore cup.final choke?

With no pressure watch them smash wrr on the weekend and convince themselves that next year is year of the Tiger

Agree.

Both teams missing a couple of key players and both teams missed a couple of big chances but Penno win was probs deserved.

Agree about ref. Made the game the game it was.

From all your messages I'm a bit confused

Did you outplay rovers or did they choke and throw the game. A bit of conflicting messages here.

Good game but obvious Yellows dominated higher intensity and first to ball definitely created the better chances. Conceded against run of play after sitting back on 2-0

Weird that that was your perspective. EEW's first goal was well worked. Their second was a flicked header to a runner off a goal kick. Other than that, they were largely anonymous after the first 30 minutes of the game. Rovers had a penalty saved by the EEW keeper (great save), had two shots saved off the line, two shots miss by about 10cm, over the crossbar for one and past the post for another with the keeper beaten both times. Probably should have been a draw at the end of the day

Penno dominated first half. Good passing link up play got them the first goal with the PEN striker blitzing through the defence tucking in the ball into the left hand corner. After that West Penno were then being split apart by long balls over the top of the defence but PEN couldn't capitalise.

Second half, West Penno started to take a little bit more control of the midfield which was a huge contest throughout the match. Lots of strong challenges but mostly fair play. Game flowed well. West Penno missed 2 1:1's whilst Penno missed 2 of their own (one looked very suspect of an offside).

Set pieces from both sides didn't produce any chances. West Penno goalie had to come off after landing awkwardly with a save.

Game on the weekend gonna be lit. PEN to win. WRR and WPH to lose creating a 3 way possibility of who will make the GF. What every park football fan wants to witness

First of all I'm not going to ask what a neutral fan was doing at meadowbank on a Tuesday night watching ressies.

So you're saying there was no choking? Just outplayed?

I wouldn't completely agree with this but it is pretty close to the truth. Rovers had more possession but didn't do anything with it. Their defenders and keeper attempted to play 'tika taka' and if the ball ever did go forward the defenders screamed to for it to be passed back to keep possession resulting in rovers not really creating anything.

Whereas tigers didn't see much of the ball but when they did they made meaningful attacks and threatened to score with the rovers keeper making multiple good saves to keep them in the game.

It was as you said only when the tigers were 2 up and sat back did the rovers create any real chances.

I really don't know what the obsession with playing good football is in this league especially in ressies. 90% of the pitches are not conducive to it and even if they were, 90% of the players aren't consistent enough to pull it off.
