Well well well, what a end to the season we have in front of us.

Who would have thought that with 1 game left we have 7 teams still playing for finals spots.

WPH have run away with the comp, but to be honest are in terrible form, with only 1 win in their past 5.

The games left:

WPH(1) vs Normo(2)

Normo whilst their lonely point and lack of goals in both grades last week vs hawks are sitting in 2nd spot on goal difference.
BUT without a result v WPH could see them slip to 6th on goal difference.

If only they took their chances v STA a few weeks back at the terribly small Eastwood Pitch...
One things for sure, this will be a bloody cracker with WPH not wanting to drop form going into the finals and Normo desperate to make the 4 and make it 2 finals series in a row.

Battle of the midfield here.....

My prediction, WPH @ Campbell Park is a hard combo to beat. WPH 2-1.

STA(7) v St Pats(4)

Who would have thought talking about STA and St Pats playing for a finals spot after the first round. STA were sitting on 2 points and St Pats about 7 or so.

STA recalled past legends like Big Red and Giagantor from the 35/1's to secure a place in next years PL, while Horsie declined to join the fight due to his new addition to his family( a telsa model Y).

On to St Pats, they are a changed side. What could it be? rumours round the traps their old coach was stale and needed to go and looking back at it we see that their Ressies coach seems to have taken the reins from the start of the round. Was this the change? Was it Peatey dropping down to ressies, or just having more players available.

While STA can't make the finals unless they win by 7 or so, giving STA anything to play for is deadly.
St Pats, well who can ignore the 5 wins on the trot.

2 teams in some serious form ST Pats(5 wins/last 5), STA(4 wins,1 Draw/ last 5) and 2 of the largest blokes to ever grace the competition to face off.

My predicition, STA to win with a rock solid defence and St Pats to get frustrated and loose their heads.   2-0 STA, St Pats to finish with 9 men.

Penno(9) v Ryde Saints(10)

With nothing to play for in first grade, i can see penno stacking their reserve grade and playing literally a bare 11.
This game will really be a statement for Ryde rather than anything from Penno.

On Penno park, this will be a high scoring rncounter with quite a few yellows to both teams.  Picking Penno 4-2.

Hawks(6) v Epping Eastwood(5)

Epping eastwood, smacked last week 5-1 and like West Ryde only winning 1 game in the past 5...... Somehow i don't think this is good enough for the tigers and defn not for coach Tony in his first season of his 8 year contract, but don't ride them off as they made easy picking of the hawks last time they played at Boronia. Must win game for Tigers as are currently sitting in 5th spot and need at least a point and results to go their way.

Ahhhh and now the Hawks, Another one of those teams who has turned the second round near the bottom and strung a few wins together and a few weeks really looked like a top 4 certainty, but now find themselves sitting in 6th spot and if they are any chance of playing next week, need to win and hope results go their way.

Match of the round i think, both teams up against it and a draw wont help anyone.

My prediction, Hawks at Hayes in a close one 3-2.

Mac Dragons(8) v West Ryde(3)

Dragons, wow, the most up and down team in the league. But how are they going to go with their suspended striker freshly off his hatrick vs the tigers.
West Ryde - what can you say, flying high and setting the league on fire, but literally limping towards the finals. 1 win in their last 5 is not great, but they really only need a point to make the finals.

If form is anything to go by, you have to say Mac Dragons are either going to flog West Ryde or they will draw. I think if Luca plays up top, Dragons by 4.

great write up.

but im pretty sure woodies have to win by over 25 goals to make semis

also essies is also really tight with the top four teams all still able to take out the minor premiership.

1 point from 15 is rough, we probably would have been fine without Door Dash breaking all the ligaments in our guy's ankle and only copping 1 week suspension for it, and our captain doing his ankle on the next play off the ball. We counted 7 first team regulars missing from our lineup the last few weeks. Obviously we aren't the only ones missing players in europe and due to injury, but still. Win and we should hopefully make second this weekend.

If my whole season is defined by one player being injured then I'd be pretty salty too.
