Serious question, why are they the only Hills based team still in the GHFA?

Penno and West Penno I get they're still extremely close to Epping and relatively close to Ryde area.

Given Kenthurst, PHD, Glenhaven etc all moved to that comp why didnt they as they're next door neighbours? Was it a money thing or cause Galston is technically part of Hornsby council?

The commitee was actually split on going and staying, and geographically while it makes sense to move, no club sets the boundaries of a council.

Old Northern Road is the boundary, hence why Kenthurst /Glenhaven moved, Hawks didnt.

At the end of the day, the main reason was that Hayes Park is classed as Hornsby Council.

NWSF have a lease of almost all of Hornsby Council's grounds, so if Hawks moved to the Hills, then they would potentially loose Hayes park. I believe there was interest from WPH to expand as they simply needed grounds for people to train at.

From the PL point of view, my personal opinion is that NWSF (old GHFA) is a well run association, and also very well refereed.

The PL here has a better promotion/relegation system, while in the Hills you see a big difference in the top 5. Norwest though are a very good team in my opinion.

HFI is only an 8 team comp but there isn't a lot of difference in their bottom and ghfa's. The top 3 would all be top 4 in ghfa with norwest and united on par or very close to it with wph. HFI do a hell of a lot more promoting the status of pl but then again it's not shackled by old systems or personnel like ghfa which isn't as good resourced. Refs in HFI are decent too with many doing both HFI and higher. They're mic'd up as well which helps big time with many calls and situations. Was ordinary when it started but always was going to be when it started. They have a good product base now and will only get better.
