St Pats are the Brentford of NWSF - been around a fair while but in the lower leagues

St Pats will finish top 4 easily. Watch this space, will take a lot of points off teams this year

Not saying St Pats won't go well and if they do then good luck to them but every year we get the same story about the promoted side and every year they bomb out, other than Dragons although the story I heard was that their whole first team was recruited from NPL and their super league side were basically the ressies - may not be true

The season was also cut short because of covid. I wouldn't really say they deserved to win the title that year, since they only played 8-9 games or so. Plus where are all these "NPL" players now? Seems like they have a lot of loyalty to the squad after getting the trophy handed to them for doing nothing

Not true

I played for Dragons that season.
recruited a total of zero players from NPL and squad was basically the same as the one which won super leage the year before. Where do you ppl get this stuff lol

I think alot of people draw the conclusion that because of :

  1. the clubs location to christie park,
  2. The coach is the Spirit Assistant Coach
  3. Your president(not sure his name) is on the board of spirit or was.

Correct me if I am wrong??

1. correct it is close

2. correct

3. President is a female.
The Spirit bloke hasn't been on Dragons committee for many years

Can categorically state Dragons do not have and never have had ANY players who came from Spirit

Yeah the average line up that year (1st year in PL) only had two new faces compared to the final year in SL, our RB and a winger from Putney.  We also played 12 games I believe, so yeah it was cut short, but can only say we were second best in two games that year where we deservedly lost.

but St Pats have a really strong squad, good mix of youth and experience, guys who have played at a high level, etc. they've also got a really good, experienced coach so they'll be a well organised squad. But everyone who has played in this comp knows anyone can beat anyone on their day.

I said it in a different thread, this'll be the most competitive the comps been in a long time (judging by previous comments in years gone by from people).

lots of teams have new coaches with new ideas, some good player recruitment from plenty of teams. It's going to be a big one!
