Wet Weather
Posted by: Wet Weather ()
Date: June 10, 2021 04:13PM

With a drenching day of rain we've had today and expected rain tomorrow, almost guaranteed that the games will be moved.

I can hardly see Waterloo, Eastwood and North Epping Ovals able to be played on

Any word about what could happen?

How on earth have those mudguzzling pigs out at Hills Hawks Hills and the princesses of the competition at West Ryde Hills managed to get their games moved from Saturday meaning they will both be fresh for Monday’s games?

Unbelievable scenes

Wow, games called of on a Thursday....

Something very fishy going on.
Very unfair for the teams supposed to play them on Monday.
It compromises the integrity of the whole of the PL competition.

Surely the whole of Saturday needs to be called off to be played later on

Well the forecast from tonight til the end of the long weekend is showing no rain at all, those 2 teams may as well play like the rest of us and not cat out from this Saturday.

do they cat out themselves or does the people at Stade de Christie made the venue adjustments all by themselves with a weather map on their 68 inch plasma Display

Come on Pep, Keith knows what he’s talking about except Keith is wrong about the best association. Definitely the Granville comp. Teams always play in the right spirit and it’s some of the cleanest football around. Pep you’re a clown.

I think this shows Keith isn’t a kenthurst player/supporter. They were at kp2, not Bernie.

I know youre being sarcastic but it still hurts me to hear it said.

That comp got so bad that too many teams left and they had to merge with the bankstown comp. I cant believe the Granville comp management let the teams from auburn, lidcombe and parra carry on like they did for so long with so little punishment.

Having played PL in that league, i can tell you that it got worse and worse as the season went on, not because of the players, but the lack of officials.

1 ref to do both firsts and ressies, not good enough!

NWSFA do a great job in that regard.

And what perhaps contributed to referee shortages in that comp do you think Rock?

I reffed in that comp as a junior and remember being at games where the officials had to lock themselves in change rooms due to abuse from players/crowd members. Worst I saw it get was the referee and another junior official get chased off the field by a player trying to hit them with a corner flag. Would hardly help with retaining referees.

NWSFA has its dark incidences as well though. So far this season we’ve had a referee being followed back home upon which a spectator drove next to him and started hurling abuse at him. A referee walking back to the carpark whereby spectators started aggressively yelling at him for the ‘shit’ game he had. Junior referees aged 15 and younger being mocked, ridiculed and harassed at Under 13 games and younger by parents. Two abandoned All Age games whereby coaches and players have completely lost the plot by surrounding the referee and making him feel unsafe. A junior referee getting abused for simply reporting about a racist remark he allegedly heard from a player. Heck even a PL referee told she ‘smelt nice’… creepy.
NWSFRA lost 30 senior referees this season and only recruited 11 hence the increase in uncovered games every weekend. How does that affect PL/SL? Referees perhaps needing more experience being promoted so you have 2 referees every game. Aside from refs being human, something to think about for players and coaches next time a referee has an ‘off’ game I guess. I will say though, refereeing PL/SL looks to be more enjoyable in NWSFA than perhaps other associations from conversations with some of their referees smiling smiley
