If only they could back up all the lip they seem to give. Nonetheless, it is entertaining to witness.
Firstly, their ressies coach pushing a WPH player was a sight to see. What a smart man he must be.
Then we have their first-grade team, dead awful.
All those Putney signings are only getting them more fights than goals. Habib hates himself so much that he takes it out on the opposing team. It's just awesome to see the downfall of the club.
penno been unlucky not to win the last two weeks. Signings are not awful at all they dominated yesterday. That's how football goes, sometimes the best team on the day dosent win.
If that's your take away from the game then you've got to be kidding. Did EITHER team deserve to win? No. Was Penno the better of the two teams? Also no. If WPH could finish chances they would have been out of sight after the first half but they couldn't hit the target if their lives depended on it. Despite that, they ran over the top in the end and snagged an arsey goal with the last kick of the game. Only when Penno started to get physical did they look threatening but that wasn't until well into the 2nd half and it turned the game into a slug fest anyway. The new signings bring some talent to the squad but also some ego and temper which is a bit juxtaposed with how Penno usually carry themselves.

>ps- again both refs had stinkers

Hahaha a Penno Putney dead arse trying to appear unbiased. And then gave themselves away when talking about how poor the refs were. Only a losing side would complain about the refs particularly the First Grade final ref who referees W League week in week out.

The downfall of Penno needs to be studied in football history classes for years to come.
How you can go from a competitive Ressies and First Grade making Top 4 in both grades to both being 6th and below is beyond a disaster. Two players already kicked out of the club due to fighting and the rest of the Putney lunatics have a better ability in speaking absolute trash than playing with their feet.
If the Putney brothers spent more time focusing on not being out of position and knowing how to pass a ball than having a go at their teammates and the ref, they might actually create better chances... Candy is well past it. Bench warmer at best and instead starting.
That my friends is the recipe for a disaster that is imploding with each week that comes by.
I haven't seen anyone play yet, but I'm starting think back to when dragons came up and won the comp, even though it wasnt a full comp* however the next year they struggled to make top 4
Can anyone see the Epping boys being the same? Or are they genuinely really Solid. Very excited to watch Epping next week! I still remember the days of playing against Epping before they got their turf so I'm keen to see what the young guns have.

Epping remind me of the young West Penno team that just started to dominate Premier League in 2019. They have the legs to cover all aspects of the field, they are cohesive as a structure, fill the gaps in defence and are clinical up front. Their centre forward particularly has incredible hold up play and knows where to be in the 18 yard box to hit one.
The midfield are by no means on paper the strongest in the comp. Arguably not in Top 4 from an individual perspective. They do the basics right and that's where teams like Penno and Epping Eastwood need to realise there's more than individual skill that helps dominate games. Cohesive, hard working midfields truimph over individual based ones every day of the week.
They have also had the luck of the draw with injuries. From looking at Dribl, they appear to have the same squad for almost every game. When Dragons won the comp in COVID, it was very similar. Key Dragons players never got injured. Always helps. Be interesting to see what results look like when key players have to miss a game here or there.

1-1 draw and 0-1 90th minute loss against the top 2 teams last couple weeks I wouldn't write them off just yet...
Love bagging out Penno as much as the next person but it could be a case of the 3-4 new faces in the squad taking a while to gel. Big win against Putney this weekend for confidence could get their momentum and season back on track.

must make you dead awful too then?
unless the game was all west penno and it was lucky it was only 1-0?
