Over 35's

Ravens have a bye in the round of 32 then an away tie against Wakehurst Wolves (Manly Warringah) on 23rd September

Let's hope Ravens take the C of C's more seriously than STA have in the past

Over 45's

Epping Eastwood take on Quakers Hill from the Blacktown Association in the Round of 16 on 23rd September.

If successful they can look forward to a round 2 clash, most probably against last year's winners St Michaels.

Quakers Hill were pretty ordinary. They were the 3rd ranked BDFA side finishing 10th in 35/4's. BDFA don't have a 45's comp. Good to see 'Splash' Madden score a brace for EEW but should have had a hatrick. Ravens 35's were up 2-0 against Wakehust but folded in the 2nd half. St Michael's annihilated Kellyville Kolts 9-1 so Tigers will need to click up a couple of notches. Tigers have a trail against EFC this coming Tuesday at the 'Y' Overall, GHFA teams performed poorly in round 2

A fair result on the balance of play. EEW went ahead mid way through the first half against the run of play. The 'Hoff' received a through ball down the left and fought of a defender before his well placed shot from just inside the box beat the hapless St Michaels keeper. St Michaels then drew level from what should have been a blatant foul on keeper Craig Thorton. St Michaels went ahead from a corner when their striker Robbie lost his defender and blasted home a first time volley from a narrow angle. St Michaeals should have had a player send off before the interval after he shoved an EEW player in the face. The referee who had already lost the game by that stage only handed out a yellow card. This action further incensed the EEW players with Angry Ant having to be restrained by his team mates as they headed to the dugout. "Splash' Madden quietened his players down at half time but to no avail. The second half proved to be a dour affair. St Michaels missed several chances to extend their lead and EEW were restricted to one tame shot on goal. Any chance EEW had to level the game disappeared when Whitey was 'sent' for a second bookable offence after expressing his frustration at another poor refereeing decision. This was EEW's 4th attempt to secure the Over 45's Champion of Champions title and I fear it may be their last. St Michaels can now look forward to a semi finals clash with the Peter Katholas lead Belmore Eagles. In the other semi final Southern Minatours with their large contingent of ex NSL players take on Mosman FC from Manly Warringah

35's Final Dunbar Rovers 2 def Como West Janali 0 45's Final Southern Minotaurs 2 def St Michaels 1 My man at the match reports that former NSW State League journeyman Steve Karavatakis scored twice for half man half beast outfit. No GHFA or NWWSA teams made the finals this year - very disappointing https://42f6uk1prw8cdcjbf1vj9lce-wpengine.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/Champion-of-Champions-2018-Program-WEB-JCG.pdf
