Well you had to be there to believe this one. A re-enactment of last seasons final. Minotaurs started with 10 and tried to delay the commencement of the game. They were soon down to 9 players after an injury early in the first half Then back to 10 players for the start of the 2nd half. Minotaurs tried to delay the start whilst the player arriving late got changed. Despite the numerical disadvantage Minotaurs scored midway through the second half after a cross/shot assisted by the wind deceived Craig Thornton in goal. Soon after David Barrett the former 400 game NSL player was marched for kicking. Minotaurs were back to 9 players. EEW eventually equalised as should have been expected. Then minutes later Ian Dunn scored a 'cracker' of a goal from an accute angle for EEW to take the lead. George not sure if it was Souris/Gianatsis/Kalogeras (too many George's!!) was sent late in the game for kicking and throat grabbing. What was a spiteful game only got worse when George ? waited near the tunnel for the end of the game before demanding afters with one of the French brothers. Then George accused an EEW female supporter of calling him a W#G. "We're not W#Gs" her was heard to say more than once. "Look at the team sheet" came back the reply. There was even more tooing and frowing involving Whitey and Angry Ant before Toss coersed his players onto the pitch for a cool down session. Good to see the "Hoff" back for EEW with his new hair cut. I thought the GHFA ref could have taken better control of the game but was up against a very experiences Minotaurs side who knew every trick in the book. EEW will need to show a vast improvement as they are up against 2015 C of C's Pagewood Botany in the next round. Good to see some Epping FC and North Rocks boys doing their homework for next season.

Thanks for the update Jethro, was interested to know how the game progressed. Also interested in the Over 35's scoreline and what happened there after St Andrews had been so dominant all year in what I thought would have been a fairly strong GHFA competition??

Sounds like a close game, any match reports, who do they play next

Yes, would be interested in a match report also. They play St Michael's from NSFA next who are a very good side. They are a mixture of Ex West Pymble and Northbridge players combined with St Michael's from the past years that were dominant in Over 35's. They have a striker ( Bobby - Ex Mosman / West Pymble ) who would be at least 55 and runs around like a 35 year old and is lethal. I believe he played with Millwall in his early days. They are captained by a guy named Declan who played up front with Batts in his old Gladesville RSL days. Add to the mix John Koch, Grant Lee and a few others and they play some good football. Will be a great match to watch. H

EEW 0 St Michaels 1 St Michaels keeper saved a penalty in the first half. St Michaels scored from the spot in the 2nd half St Michaels keeper made three superb saves late in the 2nd half to prevent an EEW win. Tigers didn't take their chances
