Congratulations also to Epping FC for winning the Reserve Grade Premiership and to St.Pats & Macquarie Dragons for getting both Firsts and Ressies into the finals - a terrific achievement.
SAINTS UNITED
A thoroughly fantastic season which saw them undefeated until near the end of the season. They clinched promotion a long way out and that perhaps led them to taking their foot off the pedal. Will be interesting to see how they fare in the finals on the back of under-par form.
Their Ressies finished with a mini burst and just missed out on the finals. They probably were one of the better teams in the Ressies comp so they will be disappointed they didnt win games when it counted.
REDBACKS
The usual extremely consistent Redbacks clinched yet another finals spot after a very good season. They were the first team to knock off Saints and even when low on troops they still played well and got respectable results.
Their Ressies were a disappointment by the clubs lofty standards.
ST. PATS
Again, a very strong season by the powerhouse Super League club. Were a tad inconsistent but their quality shone through more often than not.
Their Ressies were also very strong and will be hard to beat in the finals.
MACQUARIE DRAGONS
A first finals appearance for the newish Super League team. Some great results against the top teams but dropped points against the lesser teams. Will be interesting to see how they handle finals football.
Ressies finished comfortably in a finals spot after a rollercoaster season. Well see if they can put it all together in the coming weeks.
THORNLEIGH
Yet another disappointing season. They have the quality but can never seem to make everything click on a regular basis.
Will be gutted after missing out on goal difference.
Ressies were much the same as firsts - had some quality but nowhere near consistent enough.
PUTNEY
An incredible run towards the end of the season left them missing the finals by one win. Paid dearly for early season form and dropping games against easier opposition.
Their Ressies had their usual average season with few highlights.
EPPING FC
A unique case where their Ressies would probably beat their Firsts. Two very separate teams within one squad.
Firsts struggled mostly due simply to a lack of quality.
Their upstart Ressies team paved the way and looked unbeatable for the majority of the season.
NORTHERN HFC
A vastly improved season from these boys. No longer the easybeats and actually won a few games and had an injection of quality players. Will be interesting to see how they back up next season.
Trying to find words that arent too harsh to describe their Ressies team. They tried hard every game but to have that team represent part of your SL squad is an embarrassment.
MACQUARIE UNI
An unbelievably disappointing season from the Uni. They have now come last in consecutive seasons (PL then SL). Promised much and delivered very little.
They at least salvaged something from their season with Ressies sneaking into the finals.
