1st Grade West Ryde Rovers FC vs. St Patricks FC (Round 1: 3-1, Round 2: 1-1) Potentially the tightest game of all the Super League finals this weekend. Rovers are coming in on the back of a surprising loss to Thunder whilst Pats have been steadily picking up pace after a slow start to the season. This one could go to extra time or even penalties. Fearless Tip: St Pats 2-1 Redbacks FC vs. Ryde Saints United FC (Round 1: 2-3, Round 2: 2-1) From what I have heard Saints have had plenty on the treatment table (is that still a thing?) which saw them drop off the pace in the final few rounds. Redbacks perennially feature come finals time, though they will be disappointed with their 3rd place finish after starting the season as favourites. Tough to see anything but a Redbacks win in this one. Fearless Tip: Redbacks 3-1 Reserve Grade West Ryde Rovers FC vs Ryde Saints United FC (Round 1: 3-0, Round 2: 1-0) Hard to look past Rovers in this one, with two wins over Saints during the season. That said it’s a semi-final & a derby so anything is possible and Ryde could be the ones to hand Rovers their first loss. Fearless Tip: Rovers 2-0 St Patricks FC vs Redbacks FC (Round 1: 1-1, Round 2: 0-3) Not much separated these squads during the season with Redbacks having the better of the head-to-head encounters. Much will depend on squad depth and fitness and which team handles the pressure of a potential season ending loss. Fearless Tip: Redbacks 4-2

How is West Ryde vs Saints a derby? LH Waud is about 5 suburbs away from Pidding

WRR V SAINTS Rovers looked dominant for the majority of the game, Saints’ heads dropped after conceding the first goal and then the kept coming. 3-0 at half time before a few more goals trickled in. Saints got a consolation goal in the second half but by then it was all over. WRR V ST PATS Pats were looking comfortable at the start after choosing to go with the increasingly strong wind. They were tapping the ball around nicely and had a couple chances. A break on the Rovers side saw a few of the team get into the box and one of the defenders tapped in the first. St Pat’s equalised shortly after and then had a run of chances. A ball to the hand on the very corner of the 18 yard box gave St Pat’s captain (#14) a chance on the penalty spot - the rovers keeper picked the side right and got a firm hand to it tipping it around the post. Shortly after the keeper pulled of another game changing save in a 1 on 1. Another 5 minutes or so went by and a ball into the box failed to be cleared as one of the Pats players knocked in an own goal. Last goal came from the Rover’s captain top right corner from outside of the box, 3-1 half time. Second half saw both teams stabilise but now into the wind Pats couldn’t get balls through the Rover’s defence. Rovers had a few chances but couldn’t capitalise.

Reserve Grade Ryde Saints United FC (2) vs. St Patricks FC (3): Head-to-head: Round 1 1-2 & Round 2 0-5 No Derby’s this week in Reserve Grade sadly. Saints were belted in their qualifying semi-final on Saturday, and with their 1st Grade team also being knocked out the mood at Pidding Park would be quite sombre. On the other hand Pats won an entertaining affair with Redbacks and having beaten Saints twice this year (including a 5-0 battering) will be super confident of their chances this Saturday. I’m tipping a quite open, end-to-end affair with both teams averaging over 2.5 goals per game in the regular season. Fearless Tip: St Pats to outgun Saints 4-2 in a high scoring game First Grade St Patricks FC (2) vs. Redbacks FC (3): Head-to-head: Round 1 0-1 & Round 2 2-2 Sure to be a tight encounter with little separating the side in their two clashes this season. Pats looked to be the better side despite their loss to Rovers on Saturday, having a penalty saved didn’t help their chances of booking direct qualification to the Grand Final. Redbacks on the other hand will be in buoyant mood after their come from behind win against Ryde Saints, and have the finals experience to progress to next weekend’s Grand Final. Fearless Tip: St Pats to avenge last year’s GF loss to Redbacks 2-1 Both games at ELS Hall, Ryde. Reserve Grade 9.30am kick-off, First Grade 12pm kick-off.
