Unless we are going to play water polo, it's off..
I wonder if the new regime at ghfa are smart enough to reschedule ghfa cup games for next week, pending ground status obviously..
Hornsby Council website and wet-weather line have grounds open as of the 2pm assessments today it appears. Surely at least PL/SL should go ahead based on that?

Unfortunately, you have no clue. GHFA don't have the final say
the councils do, you know, as they own the grounds
For Saturday 20 June 2015 the following sportsgrounds are OPEN:
* Brush Farm Park * Christie Park * ELS Hall 1 * Fontenoy Park * Marsfield Park * Meadowbank Park (fields 2 & 3, LH Waud and Hockey Fields) * Morrison Bay Park (fields 1,2,3 and 4) * North Ryde Park * Pidding Park * Ryde Park * Smalls Road (Upper) * Tyagarah Park Should there be no more rainfall between now and Sunday, grounds will be open at the discretion of the club or association that has hired the ground.

Not always. In the past some councils have been closed and some have been open and GHFA have canned the whole round. Learn your history champ before slagging. You must be new here
Not sure what council Boronia Park is in but 3 fields closed Saturday at least but looks like the Sunday games can be played at this stage with at least 4 of those fields open.
how come Boronia 's part of Parra..??

Terry - are you saying each club who has an open-status pitch decided to close it themselves - all the club/pitches listed as 'open' closed all their fields on all of Sat/Sun ??? really?

Why should PL get priority? Everyone pays a couple of hundred bucks to play in GHFA. What makes PL so special?

Ive run the analysis. Measured off aerials (so take it for what it is) from goal post to goalpost and long the halfway line. The results are follows (in no particular order):
Normanhurst: 91 x 72 Campbell: 101 x 78 Hayes: 110 x 60 KP2: 100 x 70 Boronia: 105 x 61 Eastwood: 94 x 61 Peel: 98 x 65 Les Shore: 100 x 67 YMCA: 92 x 65 Pennant Hills: 99 x 67
In order smallest to largest
Eastwood 5734 m2
Ymca 5980
Peel 6370
Bogonia 6405
Normo 6552
Hayes 6600
Penno 6633
Les Shore 6700
Kenthurst 7000
Campbell 7878
Campbell is 37% bigger than Eastwood
Christie park is 110 x 66 = 7260
Sam the Surveyor's numbers are airy fairy..
i bet his google maps are showing the line markings.. so what's he using?
the edge of the greens?
If you zoom in on Hayes or Normo Park - you can see the wicket but goal lines/post? not so much
Enzo - I used nearmap. They take aerial photos in Sydney every few months or so. I used aerial photos taken this winter when the line markings were clearly visible.
Happy for it to be scrutinised. A dumpy level and a theodolite will improve the precision.
