normo won 1-0 (you only need to score one more than the opponent) stiffs also won by 2 or 3 goals

No, No, No Grump you must have misheard we had Hicky out who is as big as 5 blokes!! We rode our luck today and were over the moon with a point. Mind you if my 35 yarder that skimmed the post would have went in it would have been a different story!!!

Ranger, A draw yes with Thorns but 1-1, not 0-0

Ranger
wrote on 08-Apr-06 21:09

Was it only 35 metres ?? What about the rest Liam. And our keeper wouldn't have got to it either if it was 4 inches to the left. Your team is good. What about the 2 golden saves our keep pulled off in the 2nd half. Our only shot on target was when Batts came on, and even then your keep threw his hat on it. Warning !!! Roselea are not relegation material. 2 goals (at least) better than the Thunder. Your reserves were worse than ours. Penno were 3 up when Ravens goalie sent off, but Ravens scored with 10 men. End result 3-1. We heard WPH v Thorns was a nil all draw, and that EEW scored a penalty in last 10 mins to draw 2-2.

Forgot to ask; was there is any biffo at teh WPH v THunder game ?? Did Damo succeed in his verbal niggling to get wind up anyone ?? HE bunged it on bigtime against us last week.

Well considering you were the better side and our goalie made those 2 great saves, not counting your missile that flew mm's past the post, I'd say we were (in hindsight) happy with the point. It certainly was the battle of the superior defenses. Both sides a bit toothless I'm afraid, without enough creativity in the midfield. Bit bloody boring actually. Both teams destined for mid table on that showing. Gee your accents strong. It hadn't come across in your posts.

LiamW
wrote on 10-Apr-06 13:04

Ranger I only put the accent on for the games I actually talk a bit like Hugh Grant. I still think the game could have went either way. Tarrant missed from six yards out and I would have thought Batts would have done better with his effort. He must have been knackered after being on the pitch for 5 minutes. Tipping us for mid-table thank you very much!! All we want to do this year is stay up.

Ranger

Liam, yes Batts did look tired & fat & old (thank god this site is anonymous) but it was his first minutes in over a month, so a gallop in the stiffs against his favourite EEW will help the old buggar. From the sideline you look a mix of Hugh Grant and Steven Gerard. You play like Hugh and sound like Stevie G.

yeah?

Not really..Damo and some other wankers on the fenced sideline tried some "verbal niggling" but if anything it backfired..There were a few push and shoves but nothing card worthy in either game. I think 11 cards were given in total, including two reds in the stiffs.

Was at the Y v EEW game. Neither team really deserved to win, the draw was probably the right result. Y took the lead twice only to concede 2 mins before half time and again 10 mins before full time. EEW will find it tough this season, they look a little weak at the back. The Y were much improved on the awful showing against Roselea the previous week. With 5 out of the starting eleven, 17 yr olds, improvement can only be expected. Would be fair to say both teams will be nearer the foot of the table than the top.

can anyone give us a run down on the ymca vs eew game havent heard much about it sounds like it was good match 2-2 with eew getting a penalty in the last 10 min.which team deserved to win

wrote on 10-Apr-06 20:07

wat was different in the way the y played from the previous week.It must be tough for the 17s been thrust into first grade from the start maybe they are starting to gain a bit of confidence?

PB
wrote on 10-Apr-06 21:04

I think it was to do with the fact that EEW let them play a bit and did not put as much pressure on...Roselea the week before were out to make a statement seeing it was their first game back in PL for a long time. They were much hungrier and were rather pumped...hit the Y like a ton of bricks in the first 20 mins and they never recovered. 17s will take confidence from last week's result without doubt, and the whole team were up for it from the start this week.

Damo, I think you read what I said wrong. There was YOU and then there was the wankers on the fenced sideline who were both giving some "verbal niggling"...All part of the game...
