Ressies KEN vs PHD This fixture has developed into a healthy rivalry between these two in 2014. A 1-0 win to Kenthurst at View St in week one of the finals turned the tables on the Pumas' 8-1 aggregate over the two regular season games and was the only result of the six finals thus far that Mr EUS didn't see coming. The Pumas lost goal scoring whiz Blake 'man boobs' Rosier to a seemingly bad hamstring strain early on against the Tigers last week. You'd have to think he's no chance of playing the GF which limits their fire power up front. That said, they still created a lot of chances in his absence and could have won it by 3 or 4. They should enjoy the open expanses of Christie Park too which favours their tick-tack passing game. The Bushboys meanwhile have been resting up whatever niggles they had and proved in week one they are battle-hardened and experienced come finals time. With Juice and Trav Bardsley patrolling a tight ship all year and Sam Pintabona looking sharp up front again in week one they will be a tough proposition. Big Question: Could we be seeing the evergreen Juice between the sticks for the last time in the GHFA premier league if he lands the silverware he craves? Mr EUS Predicts: KEN 2-1 aet with a scrambled goal to decide the GF and even the ledger at two apiece in four games between the two sides this year. Firsts KEN vs WPH The Lions have been the over-achievers of 2014. Their young squad of upstarts, buoyed by the excitement of finals football, have ridden a wave of enthusiasm right to the final match of the year at Christie Park. Steve Biason has really stepped up and pulled the strings for them from midfield in the finals series, and with Pat Martins and danger man Daniel Morsillo giving forward thrust plus the ever-reliable Cheyno in goals they will be thinking they're half a chance on Saturday. The Bushboys, however, will be a tougher proposition than West Penno have faced so far these finals. Far and away the standout team of 2014 once more the Kenthurst boys will be hell bent on icing the cake of a near flawless season. In their two meetings this year the Bushboys took the points 2-1 at Campbell in Round 3 before backing up with a solid 2-0 result at home mid-season, so the Lions hold no fear for them. Talk that Culina will play is not likely - he's too quality a human being to deny a start to another Bushboy whose been working hard all year for this moment. Besides the Bushies have shown they don't need him to own the competition this year. Christie's open spaces will suit the young legs of West Penno and one of Kenthurst's three losses this year came there in a GHFA Cup tie. However, the safe money is on the quality and experience of NG, Roods, PK, Tai Smith and co. Big Question: Who will win the battle of the supporters? West Penno playing in their first prem 1's GF since their current team tracksuits were in fashion is bound to see their supporters come out of the woodwork. Kenthurst's tribal mentality on the sidelines which has intimidated many a side in recent years may well meet its match this Saturday. Mr EUS Predicts: KEN 3-1 with the Bushboys to bury two early only for West Penno to reply to make it interesting before a likely suspect puts the game to bed in the second half. Following the game the entire Kenthurst squad will do a running belly slide in the wet Christie centre circle to celebrate their double-double. They will duly all be suspended by GHFA for round one next year for damaging her most prized possession. Best of luck for the weekend gentlemen. As they say in the classics: 'May the best sides win!'
