I have a feeling Penno are not going to be the benchmark this year.

PHD and KEN will be the benchmark.

Wow there is a lot of rubbish talk on this topic. How does anyone know what is happening down at other clubs and why bother with the bullshit speculation?

This happens every year and then we have a million re-assessments come the end of the first round....by the same people that have laid their big tips down in the posts above.

I wonder if teams like RAV, WPH, STA may have recruited big this year and could take all the shit talkers from PEN, PHD, KEN, EEW, THL by surprise early in the competition? But, hey what is the point in speculating about, unless you are down watching their trial games how the hell do you know (and care really)

Look forward to all the contradicting tips come round 11 or 12....

"Best in competition:

Kurt (Penno) Mid
Boz (Penno) striker
Gray (Kent) defender
Damo suplina (Thorns) mid
Michael Mouyis (Eew) striker
Tulloch(thl) keeper

Kurt - Best centre midfielder the competition has seen for past five years. Is the heart beat at penno. But will he go down as the coach who couldnt get his team to ever win it all.

Boz - Deadliest striker in the league in recent times but doesnt like it tough. Will score most goals again this year.

Gray - Well past his best and is more into his coaching, However for this level of soccer he is still the best organisational defender in the competition and is the fiercest competitor in the league.

Suplina - Has steered thl into a premiership threat and with his coaching success last year expect him to guide thunder to the top of the tree in future years.

Mouyis - Hardest player in competition. Will benefit from last year and become eew's top marksman.

Tulloch - Best keeper in league and has done it all with an average defense in front of him. Expect a different bunch this year."

Have to agree with these players above as most have done it all before in premier league. The top three anyway. However i dont think mouyis is a threat as he gets sent off every second game.

I feel nat smith from phd is on the brink of being up there too.

Hey Spot on,

You refer to Kurt as the best Midfielder for 5 years and the heart beat of Penno. That's your opinion and of course you are entitled to it. I however am confused to your point "but will he go down as the coach who couldnt get his team to ever win it all".

Are you refering to a Championship? If so, were you not aware of the 2007 GF?

.........as for your comment about the top three having "done it all before in PL" I suggest you borrow a mates life, because yours is clearly ordinary.

"Kurt
Boz
Gray
Knippler
Ben Pike
Tulloch
Damo suplina
Michael Mouyis
Luksic
Tim Glendhill"

The top three are all past there best these days.
The likes of timmy hill and giovenalli should feature in the top players.
phd would have 2 or 3 there also.

Raeburn is down and training and looking the best he has ever looked.
20 goals this year for the tigers.

That Mcmurray from sta is far and away the best keeper in competition.
st andrews going about the business quiietly with a great 3-3 draw with best team in state brookevale.
Also thunder doing the same after spanking kdsa's best team asquith 3-0.
All looks good for a tough comp this year.

Re: Players to standout in 2010

there is no chance that asquith are the best team in KDSA.

BG, If you think Mcmurray is the "standout keeper in the league" than the standard of keepers must be very poor! he is average at best.

He trialled for Newcastle United Academy 3 years back and made it to the final squad but couldnt afford to stay over there. He must be shit hey mate? Probably because he doesnt talk himself up on this forum everyday like most players from PEN, THL, PHD. I honestly believe these blokes actually think they are that shit hot because they write about themselves all the time. Ridiculous.

as i said average at best, tried out at newcastle academy 3 years ago and DIDNT make it, wow that must make him good......NOT.I can guarantee he will not be the standout keeper this year.

And I didnt say he was shit, just not the best keeper going around.

Tulloch from THL was the best keeper last season, though in previous years, i think McMurray from STA would have been.

Maybe I am being a bit tough as I watched a lot of NSW Premier 18s last year and the young keepers their are excellent, and in comparison they are of a far superior standard to the keepers who I saw last year in this comp. ( I didnt see all the keepers but have seen both Tulloch who was OK and Mcmurray who also was OK)

I do believe we are comparing keepers in the GHFA comp, and not if these keepers are good enough to take on the world.
I would hope keepers at the NSW PL level are at a better standard to park football.

Agreed "Park Foody"... horses for courses. The original post by BG was best in the competition, no mention about any other competition or level of competition. Tulloch and McMurray are the better one's in the GHFA PL and who cares if in some opinions, they are regarded as 'average at best' if within their own competition they are the better ones. It's like the the argument for best striker... of course a GHFA striker would be of a lesser standard than those in higher levels... we don't train or play with the same intensity... p a r k football winking smiley

Zammit from Kenthurst looks to be one of the better players in the competition and a key player for Kenthurst.

This is so true, since, you are now not playing for EEW, so they may have a chance at winning the title.
