It's not on anymore. GHFA should really consult the PL and SL teams before they try and organise something like this. Im sure most teams would be interested if it provided a proper preseason hit out.

flap, what a shame. I was really stoked to see something proposed but it clearly needs to be done in consltation with the clubs or something. Im certain the interest is there

Believe the clubs with PL and SL teams were consulted (communicated with) around the time the initial post (Nov 25, 09) was posted. Aside from the flurry of wise cracks and mockings from this forum and the lack of initial response from clubs, I'm surprised if it were not on any longer.

Juice, if you mean the PL and SL teams were informed that this comp was happening around the time of the first post, then sure, they were "consulted", but no club was asked about the format or asked to put forward any ideas.

I just hope GHFA dont walk away from the idea for next season. Tweaking the format would get more teams interested.

So this thing happens on the feb 27. two eew teams, two ken teams, nor, wph and two spirit teams plus one other entered - only nine teams. with $1000 prize and $100 to enter already running at a loss. Given two teams from spirit entering I guess the money will just go back into their coffers assuming they should win it.

Uni will be in this as well as teh 9th Team.

Will Batts line up for Kenthurst on Saturday?

Bushboys site lists a trial game v Penno at Penno oval at 3.00pm this Sat. Yet I thought Ken were supposed to be playing in the GHFA's mini tournament on Sat...what gives?

Just had a look myself, but as it says the date for that game is 27th March 2010, and I know they play Penno first round, which is 27th March, I would have thought it was plainly simple. Idiot.

Of course it does, and it is, my bad, sorry a bit ahead of myself.....but don't get so worked up old timer

I can't wait for tom's tournament. I will get subbed off 2 mins into every game as my position is least crucial, and I will end playing 16 minutes all day. But I will enjoy warming up for 30 minutes for those precious 2 mins of quality.

What a great comp. For what it's worth in answer to all the pessimists who key in garbage week in and week out on this forum and knock GHFA left right and centre, this was a good thing and I would imagine and hope more teams enter next year. Didn't see the final but I'm guessing it was between Spirit A and Kenthurst A so not sure who won however all games were played in great spirit and it was both entertaining and surprising to see so many games come down to 1v1. Socially all teams mingled and laughed and some good and not so good football was played as legs tired towards the end of the day. The free BBQ GHFA put on was great though not so after playing after four sausage sandwiches. The only negative was that the refs were not too sure of the rules and as such there were numerous inconsistencies but that'll be cleared up before next years comp and really wasn't that big of a deal anyway... plus way too hot for running (not that I did any).

Well done GHFA and I hope it becomes a regular on the pre season calendar for the association. I hope the knockers on the site enter next year to see for yourselves.

Finally yes Batts appears to be playing with KEN whom he lined up for today... worst kept secret Batts

It was suprisingly a very good day well done the GHFA, looking forward to next year.

EEW A finished second last to EEW B who finished last, KEN B actually finished 4th followed by Spirit B, MAC and then WPH, EEW A and EEW B, GHFA will be glad spirit won so they get to keep their money
