That is correct, the opposition needs to unlock the team sheet so you can remove any unused players. Once the e-teamsheet has been updated it needs to be locked again by both teams or you will cop a fine from NWSF. If players are not removed they are considered to have played even is they didn't get on the field.

Hi guys. A question regarding the “last 5 games” rule. Was wondering if it’s possible to remove unused Ressies players from the Firsts teamsheet after the game? I have heard of this before where the opposition manager unlocks the teamsheet to allow these players to be taken off the teamsheet. Im seeking clarification from NWSF but obviously they are very busy of a Monday morning. Does anyone know this rule?

doesnt matter

talk with opposing manager before first grade and agree to update at end of match, most clubs pretty good about it or have been in the past but reality is the rule only impacts 3 clubs this year, WPH, EEW, STA.... the rest cant make first grade final so they can load up Ressies and try and get something from this crazy year.

kinda does matter

But the reality is it impacts more than 3 clubs. It impacts Reserve grade not first grade in the long run.

We have a First Grader who has missed the last 5 games due to injury and there’s no way we want to put him straight into First Grade this weekend. Is he legal to play Ressies?

The rule is: Any player that plays 3 out of the last 5 will be ineligible for the reserve grade finals. Yes it’s in place this year. You don’t need to play ressies, just not play first.

Baz Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Hey Juice can you help with this one pls? As The Rock said. Can't remember if that means you also can't be on the team sheet for 1st grade either... or at least removed from it before processing... maybe that was in the old paper team sheet days. Either way, that's an Association ruling that's not administered or checked through the Referees Association.

Weird explanation!

Explained

The rule is from the 5th last game (usually Round 14, this year Round 10) once you play 3 games of 1st grade you can no longer play Reserve Grade (i.e. last 2 games of the regular season &/or finals). If you play in Reserve Grade after playing three 1st Grade games, your Reserve Grade game will count as a forfeit. You can be listed on the 1st grade team sheet, but be removed after the game if you didn’t get on the field. If you aren’t removed you will be considered as having played that 1st Grade fixture. Goal keepers are exempt from this rule as long as they play as a goal keeper. So a player that has played 1st grade all season but was away/injured/suspended and hasn’t played 3 of the last 5 games in first grade is eligible for Reserve Grade, even if they haven’t played a game of Reserve Grade all season.

Here is clarification PL & SL clubs are reminded that Regulation 9.3.5 still applies this year: 9.3.5. Premier League and Super League players may be freely transferred between first grade and reserve grade, except for the final five (5) games of the Premiership Competition 9.3.5.1. For the final five (5) games of the Premiership Competition, those players who play in first grade three (3) of the final five (5) games will be ineligible to play in reserve grade for the balance of the Premiership and Championship Competitions. 9.3.5.1.1. Any breach of Clause 9.3.5.1 will result in a forfeit by the Reserve Grade team, and subject to fines as per Clause 14
