My two cents leading into the finals series. First Grade Normo- Congratulations are in order for a stellar season and worthy Premiers. Few would have predicted at the start of the season the Normanhurst would amass 43 points for the season and just one loss. The question will be, can they keep their composure in their first finals appearance in a long time, especially after conceding 5 against EEW only a few weeks ago. EEW- Would have to be viewed as favourites going into the finals series. Won it last year and currently in red hot form demolishing the other contenders in the lead up to the finals. Confidence will be high in Tigerland, if Mouyis and Co keep their heads, it will be a tall order dethroning them. Prediction- Normo 1 - Eew 3 STA- Final series main stayers, the no fuss compact approach has bode well for the woodies over the last 5+ years and should be confident heading into the finals against Penno after their big second round win. Penno- Can only be described as the roughie of the finals series. Inconsistency has plagued their season conceding 5+ goals on three occasions. However on their day have the ability to take the title. A season combined for and against of 89 Goals should promise to deliver entertaining finals viewing. The question is which Penno will show up? Prediction- Sta 2 - Penno 4 Ressies Penno- If few predicted Normo winning First Grade, less would have anticipated Penno winning ressies, if i'm not mistaken the first time this has occurred? Perhaps the perennial young team always building for the future have finally come of age. STA- True to the Woodies way, a notoriously tough team to break down conceding just 10 goals for the campaign. Will be ruing a few poor results which have cost them another premiership and kept Penno out of reach. A win a piece during the home and away season should make for a closely fought semi final. Prediction- Penno 0 - STA 1 NER- A mixed bag of results for the Rangers heading into the finals campaign, Trouncing the would be premiers Penno, drawing with the woods but losing to their finals opponents WPH. Can the NERD's click into gear and replicate their finals heroics from last year? WPH- The lions will be coming into this final series as clear underdogs. Nothing to lose and everything to gain could make them dangerous opponents. Can they deliver a true underdog fairy tale or will the young pups head home with their tail between their legs? Prediction- NER 3 - WPH 1 Good luck to all!

Ressies: Pen steal a win with the last kick of the game over STA. 1-0 WPH outdid NER with late bomb deep into ET. 2-1 Firsts: STA and PEN with a cagey affair with STA edging in front late and holding on to take the biccies. 1-0 EEW and NOR an expected grudge match, physical in nature and ebbed and flowed with NOR dominant early with a quick 1st half goal. Only for EEW to ping 2 quick ones before the halfway point. NOR came out firing and equalised mid way through the 2nd and then they bashed each other to FT and both ET halves with nothing separating them. EEW ended up coming out on top in pens though. Normo keeper needs to learn that you can't step over the goal line before the kick is taken. Had 3 seperate saves called back and retaken. GG all. I'm going home to defrost. Christie was an icebox

Just acquired photographic evidence that keeper was on his line when a disallowed save took place

I was right on the line champ. He was at least a foot over every time. Should have been carded for infringing the laws of the game.

I think this offence is usually a non-offence is A-league or the EPL....

Ellen Degeneres the ex a-League linesman was filthy that he can’t even get a run in the middle in the GHFA, so felt he needed to stamp his mark on the game during the shootout(this is the same guy who didn’t give the blatant EEW goal last year, only for Normo to score the OG to save his embarrassment). GHFA will you nitpick on all remaining penalty shootouts? Probably not..

not quite

No, this changed last year. It's now the same for penalties in the game and shootouts. If the keeper comes off his line early and saves it, he has to be booked. If he comes off his line early and it goes in anyway, it's a goal but no yellow. http://www.theifab.com/laws/determining-the-outcome-of-a-match/chapters/kicks-from-the-penalty-mark Juice Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > EEW KINGS Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > I was right on the line champ. Check the GHFA Facebook page for the penalty shootout truth. Two photos show Normo keeper stepping backwards behind line and EE keeper off line. “there’s got to be an investigation!”

EEW know they don't deserve to be through to the final after the embarrassment of the shootout. Will they show the same spirit that Normo gave them a year ago and make right of the situation? Probably not..
