http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/article/2017/03/19/ffa-investigate-ross-aloisis-alleged-assault it should not be a penalty?? ... but how would you restart it if it is a foul by the goalie?

The Adelaide player should have been penalised first for the holding and cautioned for unsporting behaviour. If you deemed the Roar goalie used violent conduct in elbowing the Adelaide player in the head, you still can send him off but play is restarted for the first foul with a direct free kick to Roar.

Old Timer you perhaps should check the Laws of the Game as they stand today. Referee handled it correctly other than blowing his whistle too slowly when the first foul occured on the goalkeeper. A change occurred where the more serious offence is punished, not the foul occuring first. Law 5. Therefore the penalty kick is the correct restart.

you think that elbow was deliberate? If thats what you think the keeper had no vision of the player other than by feel, so the real question is no that he made contact with the player, but was it deliberate. My instinct is to say it was not deliberate and caution the first player twice, once for the initial foul and the second for diving.

ref was too slow with the first foul .. this ref has too many controversial precedents
