The premiership is decided. Congrats to the Bushboys on casting aside all comers to once again paint the GHFA town red (and white!). But with four sides in the hunt for the last two finals spots (two of them in do or die territory) and the painstaking relegation tiff still unresolved there is all to play for as we head into the penultimate round of the season. No dead rubbers this Saturday; every fixture will influence the make-up of either the Top 4 or the Bottom 2. Let's preview a fascinating round of football ahead: GLH vs WPH Who would've thought at the turn of the round that the boys from Glenhaven would still have something to play for two days out from August. But jag a result here and the Rosellas could really have something to crow about. They would've been devastated by their last up loss to old SL sparring partners West Ryde. Yet with Normo stuck in the mud on 11 competition points the green and reds will be giving it their all at home this Saturday. Win here and they could amazingly take the box seat in a relegation shootout with Normo in the last game! The Lions on the other hand showed their soft underbelly away to Kenthurst two weeks ago before bouncing back with a hard fought derby win last week. How much that 4-1 scoreline against the Bushies dents their confidence moving forward remains to be seen. They still need one more win to be assured of finals football, but facing a fired up Glenhaven that is no sure thing. This pundit made the wild prediction pre-season that the Rosellas would cop 5 from West Penno in Round 1, only to put 5 on the Lions in the reverse fixture. West Penno won 4-0 on opening day. Can Glenhaven, led by a huge one from their talisman Stevie Watkins, return the favour here? Prediction: WPH 3-1 RAV vs PEN Mr Hatfield lit the fuse for a potentially spiteful finals rematch with the Bushboys after his mocking congratulations of their premiership win. But that salivating rematch might never eventuate if the Ravens can't manage to creep back into the Top 4. They must win here and hope other results go their way to stay alive. They should have too much motivation to account for a deflated, demotivated Pennant Hills outfit. But that depends on how far back Penno's memory goes. Remember April 2nd boys? Stepping out onto your brand spanking new pitch, the envy of every club in the league, first comp game on it, ambition aplenty, stars in your eyes. But then an abrasive lot wearing white and black bullied you off the park, spoilt the party, stole a 1-0 result from you and started the rot that has been season 2016. How would it feel to end that mob's season this Saturday? Need some motivation? Just saying! Prediction: RAV 2-1 NOR vs WRR Put us out of our misery PA-LEASE! Normo are going about as well as a Sri Lankan opening batsman making their test debut at the WACA. They've edged their way to 11 not out but have been stranded on that score for half an hour. It's only a matter of time until a Mitch Starc yorker swings in and knocks them over. And if the Eagles don't get on the front foot this Saturday that yorker could be delivered by Glenhaven next Saturday - seeing them dropped for season 2017. Never will there be a better opportunity for them to take a huge step towards safety than on Saturday. They face a Rovers squad who themselves are safe and will be primarily eyeing the early game. Lose the reserve grade fixture and West Ryde stand to potentially drop from 2nd to 5th such is the log jam in that comp. And with a tough final day assignment against the Bushies you wouldn't begrudge the Rovers stacking their Ressies side slightly this week in a bid to see some finals action. That said, they will no doubt want to play their part as spoiler in helping to set up a final day relegation knockout game. But Normo at home this week and next against the two newly promoted sides, surely they avoid the drop, SURELY! Prediction: NOR 1-0 HWK vs KEN Some of the sting has been taken out of this Hillbillies derby with Kenthurst having already bagged the premiership. A few weeks back it was shaping as a potential decider. But like Chris Froome's competition on the mountain stages at Le Tour the Hawks just didn't have the legs to go with Team Bushboys' second half of season surge. Talk of dissension between players and coaches in the Hawks ranks has been swiftly doused. But we all know where there's smoke... And the belting they copped at the hands of the Woodies last week only served to add fuel to that fire. With another tough fixture against the Lions next week the Hawks need a win here to guarantee a second bite of the cherry in the finals series. The Bushies will need no more motivation than that of adding another psychological nail into the coffin of their potential finals opponents after banging five past them on opening day. A tasty little subplot in this one is the battle for golden boot which pits the Hawks' Jake Pullen against the Bushies' Tim Simpson - both co-leading the comp on 11 goals. Can either steal a march to that personal award here? Prediction: KEN 3-2 STA vs EEW The talk in recent weeks has all been around whether Eastwood Oval will be turned into a car park, but the real question come Saturday is whether the Woodies will decide to park the bus there come 3pm. Only needing one point to cap their hot streak and guarantee finals football it must be a temptation for them. But with 9 goals in their last 3 matches why would they even contemplate it? The Tigers' season is on life support with a win over Normo last week giving them hope, but they're going to need to shock it back to life by paddling a few past their neighbours this Sunday. Goal difference could count in their pursuit of finals football so they don't just need to win here but win adventurously. These two have become accustomed to winner-takes-all battles in recent times. Another installment in a fierce rivalry awaits. Like fine, mature red wines that get better with age the Woodies' Michael Pearson and the Tigers' Geoff Turner have notched some important goals for their sides in recent weeks. Which one of these two will be popping the cork having won top prize in show on Saturday? Prediction: 1-1 Best of luck for the weekend, gents.

I would love to see some open leaks next season within clubs to add even more spice to already high quality pre game write ups by Mr Eus. Imagine him dropping minor bombshells in these write ups whilst offering nibbles to opponents. Would be brilliant.
