simple its called experience. when you get some you might actually convert your chances. the dinosaur in goals did have a good one to that helps.
i think what a lot of coaches have problems with in this league is the thought that you have to play good football to win
they spend all their training sessions practicing passing, playing out from the back, possesion, two touch drills
and spend zero time at training attacking goal, putting combinations together, learning how to beat defenders
you look at teams like normo, ravens, wph, hawks and phd who try to play quick little passes through midfield and then get it forward and have no idea what to do with the ball
especially normo, they dominate possession week in week out but cant put the ball in the back of the net
you then look at the more successful teams from the last 6 or so years and the way they play. kenthurst, sta, eew, very direct dont really worry about if it looks good
they just play hard, win the ball and attack. They let their skillful players run the ball and create magic. they dont care if he loses 8 times out of 10 because those 2 times could be goals.

look at kenthurst for example, they have never played 'pretty' football and they often get criticised for it. they are however the most successful club over the last seven years because they know how to put the ball in the back of the net. they dont care how it gets there they just do it
coaches should be more focused on creating good combinations between players. Practicing attacking a goal and not just by having shots, but by playing against a defence and trying to break it down
I think it comes down to effective tactics.
What I saw on the weekend was a stunned hawks team playing against a 9 man ravens outfit. Phoenix and I were amused at the level of silence coming from hawks bench and even more amused when we began to dominate them with only 9 players.
