Horse, your overrated and average at best. How you get a start at STA is beyond all of us. The entire kenthurst squad...

When your backs are against the wall, you want experience to stand up. Clearly mouyis and peatey dogged it sending in the youth and they paid the price. The best was turner coming off a minute from the end so he didn't have to take a penalty.

I defintely agree.. Turner got taken off with a minute to go. Peatey and Mouyis should have stepped up.. Pretty cowardly. No. 7, 10, 11 all looked like they were gonna crap their pants when walking up... No.10 especially.

Is it just me or was anyone else surprised by the penalty takers on Saturady? STA sent up all their old blokes (Crow, Red, Horse, Pearson, etc) while EEW threw their young blokes to the wolves. Turner was benched and no shows from Macca, Mouyis and Peatey even though 6 penalty takers each!!!

Cramped Up
wrote on 31-Aug-15 18:01

Question for both sides was do they send up people with fresher legs or experienced players or did they practice penalties at training and sent up the better penalty takers? Turner & Peatey started cramping in normal time so 30 minutes later when penalties were on they could have cramped up mid penalty and legs must have been totally shot. If the strategy worked it would have been a great move. It's like Australia's Davis Cup team. Do you play the highest ranked and talented player or a far past his prime Lleyton Hewitt in the final singles game?

Im not quite sure how the decision behind who takes a penalty in a Grassroots PL Grand final, a job that takes about 5 seconds effort, is anything like the decision behind who should play a Davis Cup match, something that requires possibly 3 hours effort or more!!!!

Bit of a stretch mate!!!

And don't forget they had the week off unlike STA who played on Wednesday night. I think the EEW senior core have some serious heartlidge issues and should be dissapointed in themselves.

I agree with the post re the old experienced heads compared to the young ones. It was typified by the two 6th penalty takers. I don't know who they were but the STA one was an older player and the EEW player was a young guy. A lot of pressure when its sudden death and id rather an old experienced head than a young one. Let's hope the young guys aren't affected by the misses.

Must of been a good gf if all anyone is talking about is who did or didn't take a penalty. Both teams played shithouse on the GHFAs biggest night and neither team deserved to win. Lucky for Stas sake a couple of the eew tiger cubs can't kick a ball.

That may be true, but considering their excellent and detailed review of the game it appears that they didnt even watch the match. Just some winey loser talk really
